Welcome to Pickmere Country House, located in the village of Pickmere, near to Knutsford, Northwich & Warrington. A quality bed & breakfast, guest house, small hotel in the heart of Cheshire.
Pickmere Country House is a Georgian grade ll listed building dating back to 1772. Originally built as a farmhouse, it was the largest of its kind in Cheshire and commands picturesque views over the surrounding countryside. We are situated in the centre of the village of Pickmere and the house is now a family-run guest house, bed and breakfast, small hotel business. We are fully licenced and serve lunches, afternoon teas and evening meals.
The guest sitting room has comfortable seating, a flat screen TV, a small library, a piano, children’s toys, card and board games and a gas burning log fire.
The small garden has a south facing terrace where you can sit out in the summer and enjoy a pot of tea, a glass of Pimms or Prosecco and there is a lovely walk around the lake in the village.

You can book the whole house for your exclusive use whether it is for a family gathering to celebrate a birthday/anniversary, a wedding or a retreat/study/golf weekend, murder mystery evening or a corporate team building day.
Corporate Events & Private Functions
We also cater for small business meetings, afternoon teas, dinner parties, private functions and wedding parties in our guest sitting room and dining room.
Breakfast is served between 7:00 to 9:00 Monday to Friday and 8:30 to 10:00 Saturday and Sunday, Festive Days and Bank Holiday Mondays in our dining room. We offer a full English breakfast with vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and dairy free options available together with a selection of cereals, fruit, yoghurts, fruit juice, toast, tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Special diets are catered for – we should be advised on booking.
Evening meals are served Mondays to Thursdays and lunches, afternoon teas and dinners by prior arrangement at the weekends. We are fully licensed selling a selection of wines from Tanners Wine Merchants in Shrewsbury and also beers from a local micro brewery, Tatton Ales, Knutsford. There is a pub within easy walking distance and there are also some great pubs and restaurants all within an 8 minute drive.
We are situated 8 minutes drive from Knutsford and 6 minutes from Northwich and because of our proximity to Warrington, Chester, Liverpool and Manchester we are ideally placed for both business and leisure guests. We are a 4 minute drive from M6 junction 19, 10 minutes from M56 junction 10, 15 minutes from Manchester Airport and convenient for Radbroke Hall, Booths Hall, Birchwood, Daresbury and Gadbrook Park Business Parks. There is off road car parking and bicycles can be housed securely.
We have 11 bedrooms, 8 are en suite. 4 bedrooms are superior doubles with king size beds, 1 superior double/twin with zip and link beds, 1 standard double, 1 family room, 1 twin/double room with zip and link beds in the garden annex (ideal for guests with dogs and those wishing to be on the ground floor level), a single and a small double which share a bathroom and a single with private bathroom.
All the rooms have hospitality trays, guest information and there is free Wifi available throughout the house.
Sightseeing in Cheshire
There are 9 National Trust properties within a 30 minute drive from Pickmere (Tatton Park & Hall being the nearest just 10 minutes away) with many privately owned country houses including Arley Hall and Gardens (5 minute drive) open to the public nearby too.
If you wish to visit the great outdoors there is Alderley Edge, Delamere Forest, The Peak District, the Sandstone Trail and Formby with their stunning views and landscapes all within an hours drive.
Shopping in Cheshire
Cheshire is well known for it’s shopping facilities. Within a 30 minute drive there is Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet Mall at Ellesmere Port, the Trafford Centre near Manchester and Chester city centre. Knutsford, Alderley Edge, Hale, Tarporley and Wilmslow have many individual shops including boutiques, antique shops, jewellers, bars, cafes and restaurants.
