Monty, our 9 year old collie/labrador, would like to welcome you and your dog to our dog friendly guest house at Pickmere Country House, for a small additional charge of £5 per dog per night. The Twin in the Garden Annex (the beds can be zipped and linked together to make a super king bed) is an ideal room with wooden flooring, with direct access to the small garden (not dog proof) and walkies around the lake in the village. Dogs are also welcome to stay in some of our other guests rooms in the house. We welcome responsible dog owners with friendly, adult, house trained and well behaved dogs.
We have many lovely, off road walks in the area including walks in and around the village and some just a short drive away such as Tatton Park, Neumann’s Flashes, Marbury Country Park, Delamere Forest, The Sandstone Trail, The Peak District and walks around the Anderton Boat Lift which interconnects with the canal system.
Dogs are welcome in the bar areas of a few of the local pubs including The George and Dragon at Great Budworth (you can walk there in an hour and then taxi back if you don’t want to walk back), The Spinner and Bergamot in Comberbach and The Egerton Arms in Chelford.
Dogs are not allowed on the beds and other furniture in the guest house and should not be left in the room unaccompanied. They are not allowed into the dining room without prior permission. Any damage done will need to be charged to the room’s account.
In case you forget to bring some of your dog’s paraphernalia we can provide you with dog bowls, towels and leads. We do ask you not to let your dog foul the lawn, terrace and car parking area or in our neighbours’ roads Merehaven Close and Crofters Close. The lake in the village is just a 5 minute walk away or, if it is dark, then there is a lit wide verge of grass up to The Red Lion pub. There are bins in the village for bagged dog waste including a black bin on our premises.
