Geronimo Festival

Geronimo Festival is a fun filled day out which takes place at Arley Hall & Gardens, solely catered to children but also allowing families to connect with each other. Geronimo Festival takes place every year, usually towards the end of May. Takes place over four days, Friday to Monday and ticket prices do vary depending whether you’re staying for a day or for the entire weekend.

The Sunday Mirror have said that “it’s Glastonbury for kids.” There are a lot of attractions and entertainment to keep the kids busy. There are different types of attractions and entertainment for kids of all ages such as; kiddie rides, stunt shows, live shows, a petting zoo, circus and so much more to prevent your children from getting bored. It’s a fun action packed weekend that you and your family will cherish together.

Ticket prices for Geronimo Festival will vary depending of how long you’re planning on staying for, plus camping if you wanted to stay there overnight. If you don’t want to stay there overnight, then Pickmere County House is your next best option! We offer the guest lounge, which has comfortable seating, a flat screen TV, a small library, a piano, children’s toys, card and board games and a gas burning log fire to prevent you from getting bored. Please get in touch with us a month prior to the event as we usually get fully booked up during this time.

Dog Festival at Tatton Park

If you are staying with us at Pickmere County House with your four legged, furry friend then this Dog Festival is the place for you and your family to visit. Every year at Tatton Park, Professor Noel Fitzpatrick (Channel 4’s SuperVet) hosts DogFest, which is a festival where you, your family and your dogs can come along for a fun day out.

There are a wide variety of different activities that dog owners and the dogs themselves can take part in.These range from agility sessions, dog diving and training. You can take your dog along to join in with the training workshops, even if your dog can be quite disobedient, by the end of the weekend he could be top dog in their class.

If your dog isn’t the type to do agility sessions or dog diving, then you can give your dog a grooming session and pamper up your pooch. Royal Canin Weight Management Team will be attending and will be offering free Pet Healthy Weight checks to all dogs and giving advice on how to keep your dog as healthy as possible.

Over the two day weekend, twice a day, Noel will lead the way on The Great Dog Walk, which gives you the perfect opportunity to get walking with your dog and allows you to explore the grounds. You can also treat yourself to a delicious range of refreshments, listen to live music and entertainment and also shop for your four-legged friend!

The time to get to Tatton Park from Pickmere County House is only a 13 minute drive. So if you are planning to stay with us, it’s the best place for you as we welcome dogs into our County House. We only ask for a small additional charge of £5 per dog per night. We also offer a full english breakfast every morning before you head off for your daily adventures!

Tatton Flower Show

The Tatton Flower show is a five day event (Wednesday to Sunday) which takes place every year at Tatton Park, where gardeners from all over the word come together to present their gardens and showcase their ideas to the public. The Flower show promotes the very best of garden design. If you’re wanting to just get advice on how to grow your own veg, experts will be there to help you on whatever you need to know about growing your own garden.

If you’re bringing children along with you, there are plenty of different activities that they can take part in! There is live music, entertainment and even schools are invited along so the children can find inventive ways to showcase their ideas. Attending the event are have-a-go workshops where you and your children can get involved. There are cafes on site for refreshments, so you don’t have to bring any food or drink along with you.

Ticket prices will vary for this event depending on whether or not you’re a member of RHS and depending on what day you plan on going to the flower show.

Tatton Flower show is only a short 15 minute drive from Pickmere County House making it a perfect location to stay if you are travelling for the event. American Car Show

Every year towards the end of June, Tatton Park and Cheshire Auto Promotions will come together to host the Stars and The Stripes American car show. This event allows you to get up close to around 1500 American cars dating back to the 1950’s all the way up to the 1980’s. The cars range from American Muscle cars to Mustangs, Corvettes, Hot Rods and many many more. If you are a car enthusiast or you and your family want to spend the day together, then this is the event for you.

There is so much more to see than just cars. It’s a two day event that usually lasts for around 6 hours (10am – 4pm) on a Saturday and Sunday, where you get to browse amongst motorcycles and Ex US Army and Military vehicles. We are sure that kids won’t get bored either as there are live shows, kiddie rides and a ‘wild west shootout’ for them to enjoy.

Ticket prices may vary but it is usually £9 per adult, aged 10-15 is £6 each and kids who are under 10 get in for free. Public admission is payable on the day of arrival and you will also have to pay for parking, which is usually around £7.00. There is no on site camping at this event so you will have to find somewhere local to stay if you’re travelling far.

Tatton Park is only a 15 minute drive from Pickmere County House so it isn’t that far if you’re wanting to just spend the day with family locally. Food and refreshments are available so you won’t have to worry about taking a packed lunch with you. So if you’re visiting us and you’re wanting a nice day out somewhere then do not miss this opportunity as it only comes around once a year.
